    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at randroiltanks@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The average life span of an oil tank is 15 to 30 years. There are many factors that effect the life of an oil tank. Dirt floors and moisture can be a factor for a shorter life, but if the tank is properly maintained it can last even longer than 30 years.

It very important to check your oil tank regularly. Here are somethings to look for.

    • Look for staining on the ground.
    • Is the bottom of the tank wet?
    • Can you smell the odor of oil?
    • State of New Hampshire DES provides a self-inspection check list. https://www.des.nh.gov/sites/g/files/ehbemt341/files/documents/2020-01/rem-6.pdf

Yes, we pump your old oil into temporary storage containers leaving as much of the sludge in the old tank as possible. We then let the oil settle in the temporary storage container and pump only the clean oil back into your new oil tank. We also add a fuel conditioner. In some cases customers choose not have the old oil transferred into their new oil tank. We would then dispose of the old oil.

When the basement door is too small we would lay a tarp on the floor and cut the old tank into pieces to remove it. When installing the new tanks we can get multiple smaller tanks and connect them to get the fuel capacity desired for your home.

In most cases we can remove and install a new oil tank in one day.

We schedule a convenient time with you to come look at the tank. The consultation takes 15 to 30 minutes. In some special situations we can do a video consultation if needed. We will then call and email you with a quote within 3 business days.
